After many, of many, of many, (etc.) years Guns N' Roses has finally released Chinese Democracy an album that took about 13 years in the making.I expected this album to be a crash and burn like "Zeitgeist," well for me at least, due to the original "Appetite for Destruction" line up not even on the album.
In my opinion "Appetite for Destruction" was one of their best albums besides "Use Your Illusion I & II."
Although they do have some personell from the Use You Illusion Era, so that makes up for that matter.
I love how the band managed to collaborate with Buckethead, so that's also a plus.
Anyways.....
At first listen I picked out the soulful guitar and a more matured version of the oh-so-famous Axl shriek on the first track "Chinese Democrarcy."
Maturity isn't a bad thing after all.
Throughout the rest of the album you will here even more progressions of hard rock and soul, a good mix.
Oh yeah and Axl's kick-ass vocals.
To keep this short, Axl has done a good and successful job at reinventing the "GNR" sound.
I hope to hear their next album, hopefully soon.
